Aramid Needle Felt

High-Temperature Dust Filter Cloth

Aramid needle felt (often referred to by the brand name Nomex® needle felt) is a non-woven dust filter cloth made from 100% aramid fibers. Known for its excellent heat resistance, abrasion resistance, and dimensional stability, aramid filter fabric performs reliably under continuous operating temperatures up to 200°C (392°F).

  • High temperature resistance: Nomex needle-punched felt can be used in various dust collectors within 204℃, can work continuously at a temperature of 204℃, and the instantaneous working temperature can reach 240℃.
  • Dimensional stability: At a high temperature of 230℃, the expansion rate of aramid needle-punched felt is only 1%.
  • Fire retardant: It starts to decompose and carbonize at 400℃, and the limiting oxygen index (LOI) is 36. It does not spontaneously ignite or support combustion.
  • Chemical corrosion resistance: It is not easy to react with chemicals such as acids and alkalis.
  • Wear resistance: Nomex needle-punched felt also has good wear resistance and can adapt to various types of high-efficiency and high-intensity filtering work.
  • In addition, nomex needle-punched felt also has the advantages of good air permeability, high dust collection efficiency, large dust holding capacity, and long service life.

Technical FAQ

What is the difference between Aramid and Nomex® filter bags?

A: Nomex® is a registered trademark of DuPont for their meta-aramid fibers. “Aramid” is the generic industrial name for the exact same material. Our filter cloth uses premium meta-aramid fibers, offering identical thermal and chemical performance to branded Nomex, but at a much more cost-effective factory price.

Can you supply finished filter bags or just fabric rolls?

We supply both. We can export aramid needle felt fabric in rolls for local manufacturers, or we can sew ready-to-use filter bags precisely matched to your baghouse dimensions (e.g., snap ring top, raw edge, envelope shape).

How does moisture affect Aramid?

A: Aramid is sensitive to hydrolysis (chemical breakdown caused by high heat and moisture). If your flue gas has high moisture content, we strongly recommend our PTFE impregnation treatment (Water & Oil Repellent) to protect the fibers.
