Anti-Static Filter Bags

Prevent sparks. Prevent explosions. Protect your baghouse operation.

Anti-Static Filter Bags are designed for baghouse dust collection systems handling combustible, explosive or static-sensitive dust. In applications such as coal dust, flour, grain dust, aluminum powder, chemical powders and organic dust, static electricity may be generated during filtration and pulse-jet cleaning.

If the accumulated charge cannot be safely dissipated, static discharge may become an ignition source. Anti-Static Filter Bags use conductive fibers, stainless steel fibers or conductive yarn structures to help release static electricity and reduce spark discharge risks inside the dust collector.

  • Conductive fibers are not affected by the environment.
  • When the fabric is charged, it discharges through its own weak corona and leaks to the ground.
  • When weaving, long filaments are used for warp yarns and short filaments are used for weft yarns.

Anti-Static Filter Bags Construction Options

Stainless steel fibers are blended into the filter media to provide stable conductivity, high temperature resistance and reliable static dissipation performance. This structure is suitable for demanding dust collection applications with higher safety requirements.

Stainless steel fiber blend

A grid conductive structure provides more uniform static dissipation across the filter media surface. It is suitable for applications where stable electrical conductivity and consistent safety performance are required.

Conductive stripe yarn is an economical and widely used anti-static structure. It is commonly applied in polyester anti-static filter bags for general industrial dust collection systems.

Adding an ePTFE membrane to an aramid filter bag allows the membrane to act as the filter cake. Dust stays on the surface of the membrane and does not get entrained into the fibers of the filter bag, which lengthens the life of your filter bag. It also reduces wear and tear, lower maintenance costs, and energy costs due to easy dust cake release during the cleaning cycle.
