A Long-Term Investment in Needle felt Filter Media Capacity

Industrial filtration requirements continue to rise. Customers now expect filter media to maintain stable weight, uniform fiber distribution and reliable performance across large production batches.

For Aokai, this manufacturing upgrade is part of a long-term investment plan. The project covers more than the installation of new equipment. It also supports further improvements in production control, process management and quality inspection.

The new line will help Aokai handle larger orders while maintaining consistent product specifications. It will also provide more production flexibility for customized filter media used under different temperatures, dust conditions and chemical environments.

Why Aokai Selected Trützschler

The performance of needle-punched filter media begins with fiber preparation and web formation. Poor fiber opening or uneven carding can lead to variations in basis weight, air permeability, mechanical strength and filtration performance.

Trützschler technology is widely used in technical nonwoven manufacturing. Its systems cover key processes such as fiber preparation, carding and web formation. These processes help manufacturers achieve more uniform fiber webs and repeatable production quality.

According to Trützschler’s official technical information, its needle-punching solutions are designed for technical nonwovens, including industrial filtration bags. The systems focus on process stability, uniform web quality and reproducible production.

These capabilities match Aokai’s requirements for high-performance filter media manufacturing.

Needle felt filter media Quality Starts with the Fiber

A finished needle felt filter media may look simple, but its performance depends on every stage of production.

The main manufacturing process includes:

  1. Fiber selection

Fibers are selected according to operating temperature, chemical conditions, dust properties and filtration requirements.

  2. Fiber opening

Compressed fiber is opened into smaller and more uniform tufts. This step also helps remove unwanted material and improves fiber mixing.

  3. Carding and web formation

The fibers are separated and arranged into a uniform web. Stable carding helps control basis weight and fiber distribution.

  4. Needle punching

Needles mechanically bind the fiber layers together. This process builds the strength, density and structure of the filter felt.

  5. Heat setting and finishing

The filter media is heat-set to improve dimensional stability. Additional treatments may be applied based on the working conditions.

  6. Filter media inspection

Aokai checks key properties such as thickness, weight, air permeability, tensile strength and surface condition.

  7. dust filter bag manufacturer

The inspected filter media is cut and sewn into finished industrial dust filter bag manufacturer according to the baghouse design and installation dimensions.

By strengthening the early stages of fiber preparation and web formation, the new production line will provide a more stable base for the following needling, finishing and filter bag manufacturing processes.

What Does the Capacity Expansion Mean for Customers?

After commissioning, Aokai’s annual filter media capacity will reach 8 million square meters. This is twice the company’s previous annual capacity of 4 million square meters.

The expanded capacity will support customers in several areas:

  • More reliable delivery schedules for large-volume orders
  • Better batch consistency across long production runs
  • Greater flexibility for customized filter media
  • More stable supply for replacement filter bag programs
  • Stronger support for overseas projects and long-term contracts
  • Faster response when customers require several specifications in one order

Capacity alone does not determine filter performance. Process control and product consistency remain essential. For this reason, Aokai is combining the new equipment with established manufacturing procedures, inspection standards and application engineering support.

Supporting High-Performance Industrial Filtration

Aokai manufactures needle-punched filter media and filter bags for cement plants, steel mills, power plants, waste incineration facilities, asphalt plants, chemical processing and other dust collection applications.

Different operating conditions require different filter materials. Temperature, moisture, dust abrasiveness, gas chemistry and cleaning method all affect material selection.

Aokai provides industrial filtration products based on polyester, acrylic, PPS, aramid, P84, PTFE, fiberglass and blended fibers. Surface treatments and ePTFE membrane options can also be selected according to the application.

Customers who are unsure which material to use can refer to Aokai’s dust filter bag selection guide or provide their operating data for an engineering review.

Installation Is Moving Forward as Planned

The Trützschler equipment has arrived at Aokai’s manufacturing facility. Equipment lifting, positioning and installation are now moving forward according to the project schedule.

The next stages will include installation completion, system commissioning, process calibration and production trials. Aokai will verify the operating parameters and finished material performance before the new line enters regular production.

Building More Reliable Needle felt Filter Media from the Start

Aokai has spent more than 20 years developing industrial Needle felt Filter Media Capacity, dust filter bags and filtration solutions.

The new Trützschler production line represents another step in the company’s manufacturing development. With an annual capacity of 8 million square meters, Aokai will be better prepared to support large industrial projects, customized filter media requirements and long-term overseas supply programs.

The goal is clear: provide customers with consistent filter media, reliable delivery and dust filtration products designed for real operating conditions.
