Why Your snap band filter bags are Failing at the Top & How to Prevent It

In industrial dust collection systems, the longevity of filtre torbaları is critical to operational efficiency. A frequent and frustrating issue encountered by plant managers is the premature failure of the bag top. At Aokai ENVIRONTEC, through years of field analysis and manufacturing expertise, we have identified that this “blown-out” effect at the bag top is rarely a material defect but rather a cumulative result of mechanical misalignments.

Key Factors Leading to Bag Top Abrasion

When the high-pressure pulse jet deviates from the vertical center of the filter bag, it strikes the inner collar rather than entering the venturi or bag body directly. This localized high-velocity impact causes rapid mechanical wear, especially in high-temperature filter bags or standard snap band filter bags where material tension at the seal is a factor.

The cumulative errors generally stem from five technical dimensions:

  1. Pitch Error Between Blow Holes: Inaccuracies in the spacing of holes on the blowpipe.

  2. Pitch Error Between Cell Plate Holes: Misalignment in the laser cutting or punching of the tubesheet.

  3. Flatness of the Cell Plate: If the tubesheet is warped beyond tolerance, the bags will not sit vertically.

  4. Poor Alignment During Installation: Failure to manually center the blowpipe holes with the cell plate holes.

  5. Verticality Deviation of Blow Holes: If the nozzle is welded at an angle, the jet stream will hit the side of the bag top.

Engineering Standards for Prevention

To ensure the optimal performance of your snap band filter bags, precision is non-negotiable. According to industry-leading standards followed by Aokai ENVIRONTEC, the deviation between the center of the blow hole and the center of the cell plate hole (A) must be: A ≤ 2mm

The Aokai Professional Solution: Top Protective Sleeves

For systems operating under high-load or those utilizing high-temperature filter bags susceptible to edge wear, we recommend proactive hardware reinforcement. Installing a protective sleeve (inner collar) inside the cage top can drastically extend service life.

  • Recommended Sleeve Length: 200 mm

  • Function: This sleeve acts as a sacrificial shield, absorbing the initial kinetic energy of the pulse jet and guiding the airflow safely into the bag body.

Aokai ENVIRONTEC is dedicated to more than just supplying high-quality filter media; we provide engineering insights that protect your investment. Understanding the physics of filtration is what defines our professional edge.
