What Are Nomex Filter Bags?
Nomex filter bags are high-temperature dust collector bags made from Nomex® fiber or comparable meta-aramid needle felt. They are commonly used in baghouses handling hot, dry and abrasive dust. Typical applications include asphalt mixing, cement processing, metalworking and mineral production. Aokai supplies custom meta-aramid filter bags for continuous operating temperatures up to 204°C.These bags offer excellent thermal stability, abrasion resistance, and long service life. They are equivalent in performance to Nomex® filter bags.

Properties of Nomex Filter Bags
- Heat Resistance:Nomex filter bags can withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 204°C and short-term peaks up to 240°C
- Kimyasal Direnç: Meta-aramid filter bags provide moderate resistance to common acids and alkalis. They are not recommended as the default option for wet gas, strong acid exposure or frequent condensation.
- Mechanical Strength:Nomex fibers provide excellent mechanical strength, ensuring durability and a longer service life.
- Abrasion Resistance:The inherent abrasion resistance of Nomex fibers helps the bags withstand the rigors of dust collection processes.

Singeing / Calendering
Removes loose surface fibers and runs the material through hot calendering rolls for a smooth surface that ensures exceptional dust-cake release.

Water & Oil Repellent
Impregnated with Teflon agents to repel moisture and light hydrocarbons, preventing bag-blinding due to local dew-point cooling.

PTFE Membrane Coating
An ePTFE membrane supports surface filtration and improves the capture of fine particulate matter. Actual filtration efficiency and pressure drop depend on the membrane grade, dust characteristics and operating conditions.

PTFE Emprenye
PTFE impregnation improves fiber surface smoothness, dust release and resistance to light moisture and selected chemicals. It does not make meta-aramid suitable for every corrosive or high-humidity application.
When Should You Choose Nomex Filter Bags?

Meta-aramid filter bags for Nomex replacement applications
When Nomex Filter Bags May Not Be Suitable
Nomex filter bags are not the default choice for wet flue gas, frequent condensation, strong acid exposure or highly oxidizing conditions. PPS, PTFE, fiberglass or blended filter media may provide better service life in these environments. Aokai recommends reviewing the full operating conditions before confirming the filter material.
